Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi → Samburu National Reserve

• 6:00 AM – Departure from Nairobi for the scenic journey north toward Samburu.
• Drive through Kenya’s central highlands passing towns such as Thika, Karatina and Nanyuki.
• Enjoy views of coffee plantations and Mount Kenya region landscapes.
• 9:00 AM – Stopover at the Equator crossing point in Nanyuki for photos and demonstrations.
• 1:00 PM – Arrival at Samburu National Reserve and check-in at Samburu Sopa Lodge.
• Lunch at the lodge followed by relaxation.
• 4:00 PM – Afternoon game drive in the reserve.
• Wildlife may include Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, elephants, lions and leopards.
• Possible sightings of crocodiles and hippos along the Ewaso Nyiro River.
• 6:30 PM – Return to lodge.
• 7:30 PM – Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Safari in Samburu

• 6:00 AM – Early morning game drive when wildlife is most active.
• Look out for predators such as lions, leopards, hyenas and cheetahs.
• Excellent photography opportunities during sunrise.
• 8:30 AM – Return to lodge for breakfast.
• 10:30 AM – Optional cultural visit to a Samburu village.
• Experience traditional dances, learn about Samburu lifestyle and visit traditional manyattas.
• Opportunity to purchase handmade beadwork and crafts.
• 1:00 PM – Lunch at the lodge followed by relaxation.
• 4:00 PM – Afternoon game drive exploring other areas of the reserve.
• Highlights include elephant herds along the river, rare northern Kenya wildlife and birdlife (over 350 species).
• 6:30 PM – Enjoy sunset views in the wilderness.
• 7:30 PM – Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge or camp.

Day 3: Samburu → Nairobi

• 6:30 AM – Early morning game drive for final wildlife sightings.
• 8:30 AM – Breakfast at the lodge and check-out.
• 9:30 AM – Departure for Nairobi.
• Optional lunch stop along the way in Nanyuki or Nyeri town.
• 4:30 PM – Arrival in Nairobi and drop-off at hotel or preferred location.
